AINBAI-ELIS- Papua new Guinea

Siberut Island Forest Rehabilitation - Indonesia

By protecting natural habitats and promoting biodiversity, our project not only conserves the environment but also enhances carbon stocks, contributing to climate change mitigation. Moreover, we aspire to establish a sustainable land-use model, providing improved livelihood opportunities for local communities while preserving the area's rich biodiversity. This initiative is located in Siberut Island, Mentawai Island District, West Sumatra, Indonesia, and falls under the categories of Improved Forest Management (IFM) and Avoided Conversion of Forests (ARR).
One Nile Project - Government of South Sudan
Our project in the Sudd region of South Sudan, focusing on Wetland Restoration and REDD+, aims to support community-led conservation efforts by leveraging the carbon stored within the region’s forests. This tailored approach considers the unique environmental, social, and economic aspects of the Sudd’s communities within the global carbon market. The Sudd region, rich in biodiversity, plays a crucial role in the well-being of its communities. The Nile initiative acknowledges the essential connection between the health of this ecosystem and the welfare of its residents.
Woodlark REDD+ Project
The Woodlark Island REDD+ Project, located in Papua New Guinea, proposes using the Nature-based Solutions approach to protect the island's forest and biodiversity (500,000ha) while improving the well-being and resilience of local communities. The Woodlark Island Development Foundation, formed by the islanders, will oversee the project, ensuring respect for customary land rights and cultural values. Half of the project's net revenue will directly benefit landowners, empowering them to decide on development priorities like health, education, infrastructure, and sustainable livelihoods.
